01

General

What is Leela Works?

Leela Works is an AI-powered contract review and negotiation platform. It reads contracts like a senior lawyer would: spotting risks, suggesting precise edits, and applying your playbook consistently across every matter.

Who is Leela Works for?

Transactional lawyers, in-house legal teams, and contract managers who review agreements regularly. Whether you're solo counsel or running an enterprise legal department, Leela scales with your workflow.

How is it different from other contract review tools?

Most tools offer generic AI that treats every contract the same way. Leela learns YOUR playbook, your firm's positions, your preferred language, and your risk tolerance, and reviews the way you would, not the way a generic model thinks you should.

02

Core features

What is Smart Redlining?

Smart Redlining is AI-powered contract markup. Upload a contract and Leela identifies problematic clauses, suggests specific edits, and explains why each change matters. Export a clean redlined Word document ready for negotiation.

What are playbooks?

Playbooks encode your negotiation preferences into reusable rules. Define what clauses you prefer, what language is unacceptable, and what your fallback positions are. The AI applies your playbook consistently across every contract. No more starting from scratch.

How does issue tracking work?

As you review a contract, flag issues with a single click. Each issue gets categorized by priority and linked to the specific clause. Track resolution status, add notes, and never lose a negotiation point in email threads again.

What is role-specific review?

Contracts look different depending on which side of the table you're on. Leela understands whether you're the Buyer, Seller, Licensor, Licensee, Landlord, or Tenant, and reviews from your perspective. A limitation of liability clause that's great for a vendor is terrible for a customer.

03

How it works

How do I get started?

Upload a contract, select or create a playbook, choose your reviewing role, and click Review. Within seconds, you'll have a marked-up document with issues flagged and suggested edits ready.

What document formats do you support?

DOCX (Word), PDF, and plain text. For the best redlining experience we recommend Word; it preserves formatting and allows for clean tracked changes on export.

How long does a review take?

Most contracts are reviewed in under 60 seconds. Complex documents with 50+ pages may take a few minutes. You'll see a progress indicator and can continue working while the review runs.

How accurate is the AI?

Our models are trained on legal contracts and understand context, not just keywords. That said, we always recommend human review of AI suggestions. Leela is a tool to augment your judgment, not replace it.

04

Playbooks

How do I create a playbook?

Describe your negotiation preferences in plain language and our AI generates rules with preferred clause examples. Or build rules manually by specifying what you're looking for, what you prefer, and what you won't accept.

Can I share playbooks with my team?

Yes. Playbooks can be shared across your organization, ensuring everyone reviews contracts with the same standards. Useful for onboarding new team members or maintaining consistency across offices.

What types of playbooks can I create?

Any contract type: NDAs, MSAs, SaaS agreements, licensing agreements, employment contracts, leases, and more. You can keep multiple playbooks for different contract types or different clients.

05

Security & privacy

How do you handle my documents?

Your contracts are encrypted at rest and in transit. We never use your documents to train our models. Your data stays yours; we process it to provide the service and that's it.

How long do you keep my documents?

You control your data retention. Delete documents at any time and they're permanently removed. We don't keep backups of deleted content.

Are you SOC 2 compliant?

We're currently pursuing SOC 2 Type II certification. Email us for our security documentation and to discuss enterprise requirements.
